With the Beijing Winter Olympics (running February 4-20, 2022) about to begin, Peacock is doing all it can to make sure sports fans are appeased. Peacock unveiled its Olympics coverage with last summer’s Tokyo games and the viewer frustration was evident over delayed replay coverage and many events being left off the platform altogether. In an age when more and more customers are looking to cut the cord on cable, the strategy was clearly misguided enough to have Peacock completely revamp the way they presented Olympic and Paralympic coverage this time around.
In order to really brand themselves as the streaming home for Beijing, Peacock is promising “every live event and gold medal moment to exclusive daily shows, channels and original documentaries, viewers will be able to easily catch-up and keep up on all the action throughout the Games with our comprehensive Olympics hub on Peacock,” according to Kelly Campbell, Peacock president.
This access is only available for Peacock Premium ($4.99/month) and Premium Plus ($9.99/month) subscriptions, but that gets you access to live and on-demand viewing of all 15 winter sports, opening and closing ceremonies, medal ceremonies and more. Let the games begin!
